The hot making process of the 'Fossil'. This process takes up to 45 minutes. When the piece is finished it is put into a kiln to cool down very slowly over 2 days.
Once cold, the glass will then go through a lengthly cutting, grinding and polishing process.
  
Picking up the 'embryo'. The Gathering glass from the furnace. Running off excess hot glass.
'embryo' is an engraved piece
of glass that will give the
final internal pattern.
  
Shaping the glass with wet Rolling the glass into fine glass Heating and melting in the 'Gloryhole'.

Cooling the neck with compressed air. Stretching the glass with heat Stretching the glass further.

Beginning the spiral. Whilst curling the spiral, the glass Curling.
must be regularly reheated in the 'gloryhole'.
 
Finished. The piece is filed with Knocked off the iron before being
cold water at the neck. annealed in the kiln.
